Markham House Bed and Breakfast

Markham House features 3 guest bedrooms in the main house including:  Garden Suite with king bed, sitting areas, double jaccuzzi and full ensuite bathroom; English Country Room with king or twin beds, sitting area and ensuite bathroom with shower; morningside Room with queen four poster bed and full private bathroom just adjacent.  All of our rooms offer, TV, VCR, DVD,Stereo, fireplace,telephone and WiFi.

A full gourmet breakfast is served in the formal dining room overlooking the gardens.

Honeysuckle Cottage is situated privately at the edge of our woods with it's own Hot tub and BBQ on the large sundeck.  The cottage has a warming wood stove, kitchenette with all the utensils, comfy sofa, TV,VCR,DVD,Stereo,telephone and a separate queen size bedroom with large ensuite bathroom with double shower.

While you are here you must enjoy the activities in the Sooke Region. Go walking or cycling on the Galloping Goose Trail or hike in the wonderful waterfront parks such at East Sooke Regional Park, China Beach or the Juan de Fuca trail.  You may want to take the time to drive to Port Renfrew, our neighbouring community to the west. Here you will find the fabulous Botanical beach with acres of tidal pools at low tide filled with the myriad of sea life--take your camera.  

You can also rent a kayak for a trip around the pristine Sooke harbour, or for a bit of arial adventure take a ride with Adrenaline, Sooke's world class Zip line.

Dining in Sooke is a treat! Venture into the past at the historic 17 mile pub, or  take a trip to the Mediterranean at Markus' Wharfside overlooking the harbour. Point no Point tea room is charming, perched on a bluff looking out to sea, and of course we are proud to have the famous Sooke Harbour House in our midst, where you will be served the freshest of local products with a distinctive flair.

The city of Victoria is a great day trip from Markham House. Visit the Royal British Columbia Museum--touted to be one of the 10 best in North America, Have tea at the famous Empress Hotel, or shop at the myriad of interesting shops and take a stroll around the inner harbour watching the yachts and seaplanes.
Butchart Gardens is about 40 minutes away on the Peninsula--a must see in all seasons of the year.

At Markham House, you are also only about 40 minutes from the Cowichan Valley, our wine country. Take the day and visit the many wineries--stop for a little wine education, a tasting and/or lunch.
