Vehicle Ferry
From Vancouver
BC Ferries One of the BC Ferries terminals is at Tsawwassen which is about 30 minutes south of Vancouver and just north of the Canada-US border. These are large, modern vessels with the most frequent and convenient sailings. The crossing is to Swartz Bay which is 30 minutes north of Victoria and takes about 95 minutes. Reservations are recommended during the high season.
BC Ferries The other ferry departure point from Vancouver is at Horseshoe Bay in North Vancouver. the 90 minute crossing will take you to Nanaimo which is a 90 minute drive north of Victoria on highway 1. Reservations are recommended during the high season.
From Port Angeles
MV Coho The Coho Ferry arrives in downtown Victoria’s Inner Harbour after a 90 minute crossing from Port Angeles. There are up to 4 sailings daily in high season. The route is very busy during the summer and reservations are recommended.
From Anacortes
Washington State Ferries ply the waters between Anacortes and Sidney, 30 minutes north of Victoria after a 2.5 to 3 hour crossing. It is essential to reserve and arrive early in high season. Two sailings daily in high season.
From Bellingham
Victoria/San Juan Cruises operates The Bellingham Star between Bellingham and Victoria’s Inner Harbour. This is a seasonal service running from the first part of May until the end of September.
Passenger only ferry
From Seattle
Victoria Clipper This passenger only ferry travels from downtown Seattle to downtown Victoria in 2 to 2.5 hours. This service runs year round.
From Port Angeles
Victoria Express This passenger only ferry travels from downtown Port Angeles to downtown Victoria in 1 hour. This is a seasonal service running from mid-May to mid-September.
