Victoria has offered exhilarating zipline rides for some time but there’s an opportunity to zip over part of Victoria this March.
Urban ziplining came to British Columbia for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Fot the first time, it can be enjoyed (yes, it really is fun) here in Victoria. From 7th to 23rd March 2014 you can soar over Uptown, one of Victoria’s shopping centres. Double ziplines will be set up from towers so that you can fly 40 feet over spectators side by side with friends or family members. This thrill is open from 1pm to 7pm daily at a cost of $10 per ride, with 50% donated to a local charity.
These ziplines will be set up by Adrena Line whose dramatic zip-lines are permanently near Sooke, just 30 minutes from downtown Victoria. Instead of urban zipling you are in Vancouver Island’s wild natural beauty. Here you traverse a series of eight ziplines at heights varying from 150 – 1,000 feet high among the trees. It’s immense fun with dramatic views, and yes, you feel totally secure (I can vouch for this).
Further aerial adventures can be enjoyed in Victoria at WildPlay. Although there is no full zipline there are mini lines, rope swings and wobbly bridges – great for kids of all ags to monkey around on.
